Gazebo - FAQ

Q. Customizable options?

A. Most of the standard features shown for our gazebos may be modified allowing you to select a gazebo that perfectly matches your needs. The following are some of the options available:
  • Shingles - Available in traditional asphalt, long-lasting slate, or cedar shakes. We can also exclude the shingles altogether if you prefer to add your own.
  • Roof - Available in single and double roof with or without a cupola.
  • Spindles & Posts - Available in the more decorative, lathe-turned style.
  • Flooring - Available in treated pine and cedar, or in maintenance free composite (grey or redwood).
  • Screens - If desired, we will provide a full set of screens that add privacy and protection from insects. Our screens are easy to install, remove, clean, and store. We can also install a screen in the floor further enhancing your protection from insects.
  • Benches - Add benches made to fit and perfectly match the style of gazebo you've selected.
  • Other - Some of the other options we can add to your gazebo include wiring and receptacles, a second door, actual windows, and stain/sealer.
If these options don't suite your needs, we will work with you to fully customize any of the features listed for our gazebos. Please contact us to find out more about our customizable features and the related pricing.

Q. What is involved in assembling your gazebos?

A. We ship our gazebos in pre-cut sections, packaged on heavy-duty pallets, and banded for easy handling. All of the hardware that you will need will be included as well as detailed instructions. Please review the instructions carefully and make sure that all of the items listed, including shingles, are contained in your package. To assemble your gazebo, you should simply need to arrange the floor sections (which should be clearly marked), insert the posts into pre-cut openings in the floorboards, fasten the railings and secure skirt boards to the posts, and lay the deck boards. For the roof, you will have to install and fasten the shingle caps, and if included, affix the cupola. Operators are available to help you with any questions that may arise during the course of assembly and installation.

Q. How long does it take to assemble your gazebo kits?

A. Our gazebo kits will be shipped to you partially preassembled with detailed instructions, so final assembly is relatively easy, though we do recommend that you have a helper. The assembly can usually be completed in an afternoon, or a weekend for some of our larger, double-roof models.

Q. What is required as a foundation for the Gazebo?

A. Please remember that you should check with your local building inspector in order to ensure that you are aware of any local building codes that may apply to the gazebo you have planned.

The most common foundation option is a base of gravel or crushed stone three to four inches deep, assuming that the ground is level or close to level (within 1" to 2"). If the ground has been excavated, or fill dirt has been added, ensure that the ground under the gazebo is stable (tamped) before adding the gravel. A concrete slab can be poured as a foundation under your gazebo, but this is usually suggested only if you intend to use your gazebo for a hot tub. Installation of your gazebo on a slope will require posts (6X6, concrete block, or sona tube) as well as a framework underneath the gazebo.

Q. How long does it take to receive my gazebo once I place an order?

A. Each one of our gazebos is custom made for our customers. The time it takes to make and ship your gazebo can be as little as two weeks during off season (late summer to winter) and four to six weeks during the busy season (spring to early summer). Depending on your location, shipping time can take anywhere from two to six business days.

Q. How are the gazebos shipped and how much does it cost?

A. Gazebos that are too heavy or too large to ship using Federal Express or UPS must be delivered by Motor Freight. Gazebos shipped by motor freight will require that you arrange for someone to be there for delivery and to help unload the shipment. Drivers are employed by their trucking companies so we can make no guarantee that the driver will even help to unload (although some do).\

The cost for shipping our gazebos varies based on your location. Please click here to have an operator contact you and provide you with a shipping quote.
