Treated Pine Gazebos
Our treated pine timber frame gazebos are constructed of #1 grade arsenic-free, natural select, treated Southern Yellow Pine. In addition to this process, which prevents decay and insect damage, the pine is kiln-dried before and after treatment, to minimize warping, checking, and twisting.
We also use Southern Yellow Pine for our standard gazebo floors, which can be sealed and stained for retention of their yellow hue. Otherwise, they will weather to a natural yellow-tinted gray.
Our treated pine gazebos come with a cedar shake roof as part of their base pricing. Cedar is one of the best natural roofing materials available, sometimes lasting over 70 years. The natural oils found in cedar help reduce the risk of wood rot and insect damage, while its straight grain helps ensure that the shakes will remain flat and true. Finally, you do not even need to seal the shakes--left untreated they will weather to a rich and rustic gray. If you do wish to preserve the original look of the shakes then we recommend applying a quality sealer once a year.
